Rimworld run and gun

In my last game I launched a rescue operation for one of my best characters brother. I've built a marvelous base! Who would ever want to leave it? I tried a few raids on pirate bases to save hostages but it always ended up being a bad idea that left a critical member dead. That or try to actually escape, but I never found that a compelling goal. I think what I needed to do was update my furniture so that my base had a higher wealth. I had run out of things to build and gone into 'wait for stuff to happen' mode.

I had my freezer set up, my farm was producing food, and no power issues. My last game before I moved on I had finished my hill base and fought a raid against some pirates where they couldn't get through the kill-hallway and were gunned down. Usually this would involve tunneling into a hill to make an elaborate base then waiting on max speed for it to be completed. Then I went with what I got and made the best of it. I only allowed one reroll of starting crew and 5 random rolls of starting crash site. Games like this I prefer not to use more than one save file and to try and limit myself to what it gives me. I'd like the soundtrack to be on Spotify but when I want to listen at work I can get by with Youtube for now.
